Kroeker
September 23, 1950 – January 5, 2022
Jerry Lynn Kroeker, 71, passed away on January 5, 2022, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born September 23, 1950, in Hutchinson, KS, to Bueford and Opal (Newburn) Kroeker.
Jerry graduated from Pretty Prairie High School in 1968. He married Karleen Pitzer in 1972. Jerry married Anita Green Drummond in 1988. He served as president of Pretty Prairie Saddle Club for 25 years.
Jerry was a multi-talented individual having worked at Cessna, Boyd Motors, Hutchinson Fire Department, insurance sales for Penn Mutual, owned his own autobody shop, Collins Bus, Akzo Nobel Sikkens Paint Company, as well as a farmer, after moving to the family farm in 1988. He could repair anything, as well as build, machine, and weld any project he designed. Jerry enjoyed riding the mounted parking patrol at the Kansas State Fair for several years.
He is survived by: his wife, Anita of 33 years, Hutchinson; daughter, Jaimie (Roy) McComas, Hutchinson; step-daughter, Alaina (Travas) Brenner, Silverthorne, CO; son, Jeremy (Angie) Kroeker, Nickerson; grandchildren, Ethan McComas, Charles McComas, Tyler Kroeker, and Ashley (Gino) Scarborough; step-grandchildren, Tayden, Tannan, and Aniaya Brenner; great-granddaughter, Haley Scarborough; brothers, Nolan (Dana), Merle (Gail), Cletis, and Rex (Tammie) Kroeker; sisters, Dixie Kellums, Twila (Mike) Spaeny, and Rita (Jerry Ricksecker) Black; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; baby sister, Lila; and brother, Kenny.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Monday, January 10, 2022, at Fairlawn Burial Park, 2401 Carey Blvd., Hutchinson, with the Reverend Mike Valdois officiating. Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, and from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with the family present from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Pretty Prairie Rodeo Booster Club Scholarship Fund or Reins of Hope, in care of Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
