Jerry Arlo Lowrey, 64, died Feb. 23, 2007, at his home.
He was born Oct. 8, 1942, in Hutchinson, the son of Willard "Bill" and Elsie Cooper Lowrey. He graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1962. A lifetime Hutchinson resident, he was a master carpenter and owner of Lowrey Construction.
He attended Westbrook Baptist Church and belonged to the Sandhill Saddle Club. He served in the U.S. Navy Seabees during the Vietnam War.
On July 6, 1968, he married Nona Charter in Nickerson. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Brett and fiancé, Heather Maguire, Hutchinson; a daughter, Julie Lowrey, Hutchinson; foster children, Jesse and Desiree Gorgas; a brother, Jack, Hoyt; three sisters, Mary Current, Elva Jean Walker, and Linda Anderson, all of Hutchinson; three grandchildren, Dakota and Kyle Lowrey, and Ethan Cochrane; and foster grandchildren, Jason Caravello, Kiersten, Chloe and Madyson Gorgas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Weslie; a sister, Etta Hubbard; and an aunt, Alta Miller.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Lebanon Cemetery, Kingman County, with Bob Shelton presiding. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, with the family present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
