Jerry P. Matlack, 68, of Hutchinson, died Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Good Samaritan Center in Hutchinson.
Jerry was born May 31, 1943, in Hutchinson, the son of Raymond and Ruth Workman Matlack.
He graduated from Burrton High School in 1961, and was a member of the Burrton United Methodist Church. He had attended Hutchinson Community College. Jerry worked at Cessna Fluid Power/Eaton Corp. and Hoskinson Sand and Gravel for many years. Later he worked as an over-the-road trucker. He loved HCC basketball team and was an avid fan. He also liked to go camping and fishing.
Jerry married Cyndy Ferguson on Dec. 12, 1998, in Kansas City, Kan. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Jeff Wilde of Overland Park; a stepson, Chris Scott; a stepdaughter, Tiffany Pyle, both of Monument, Colo.; a sister, Rae Jean Matlack of Denver, Colo.; a grandson, Justin Wilde of Overland Park; and six step-grandchildren, Samantha Martin, Shawn Martin, Trystan Pyle, Madison Scott, Garrett Pyle and Hunter Scott, all of Monument, Colo.
Jerry will be so missed. He was a friend, hard worker and a great guy. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
