Jerry Reed, 80, died November 26, 2023, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born February 10, 1943, in Hutchinson, to Rose Castor.

Jerry attended Hutchinson High School. He worked at Western Union, Sears in maintenance, retiring after 27 years, where he then worked for the City of Hutchinson in maintenance and landscaping. Jerry enjoyed watching NASCAR and wrestling, reading puzzle books, and attending music concerts. His favorite music genres were oldies and country. He was a member of Eastwood Church of Christ.

On November 2, 1985, he married Lori Snell, in Hutchinson. They shared 38 years of marriage prior to his death.

Survivors include: wife; sister, Nancy Jenkins of Texas; sisters-in-law, Vanessa Gilbert of Wichita, Mary (Mike) Nowlan of Hutchinson, and Theresa (Richard) Walker of Fredonia; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Jack Gilbert; and parents-in-law, Carroll and Jody Snell.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Friends may sign the book Monday thru Saturday 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. until January 5, 2024, at Elliott Mortuary.
