Jerry Lynn
Worthington
Jul 11, 1963 — Aug 12, 2026
Jerry Lynn Worthington, 63, a man of flourished faith, selfless acts of kindness, and a deep love for family and friends, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Wesley Medical Center.
Jerry was born July 11, 1963, in Hutchinson, KS, to Wayne and Frieda (Lambert) Worthington. He grew up on a farm outside of Haven, KS. He was the youngest of three siblings, Collette and Kerry Worthington. In his early years, Jerry enjoyed playing ball with his two nephews and going on many family vacations.
Jerry met the love of his love, December Yoder, at Calvary Bible College. They married May 17, 1986. They moved to further his accounting courses. Although he was great at numbers, Jerry was always happiest outdoors and seemed to favor his job at Mid-Kansas Coop the most. Following retirement, you couldn't tell him to bask in it. He always needed something to keep himself busy. Jerry was a proud father of four children: Joshua, Elizabeth, Jonathan, and David. The love of being a parent blessed him later in life with seven grandchildren who brought sheer joy to his life.
Jerry enjoyed assembling models and playing the saxophone which were a couple of his strengths. Lending a helping hand to neighbors, and especially family, was always in the cards. His overall favorite time was spending it with his family as it brought meaning to his life.
Whether he was enjoying time with his wife December or imagining what more he could do on his brother’s farm, Jerry was the happiest when he was spending time with his grandkids or hearing from his own kids. Jerry's fun- loving, undeniable kindness to everyone and determined spirit will always remain in the hearts of his family, friends and community.
Jerry is survived by his: wife, December; children, Joshua (Rachael) Worthington, Elizabeth (Brandon) Huntley, Jonathan (Miranda) Worthington, David (Carissa) Worthington; seven grandchildren (4 grandsons and 3 granddaughters); siblings, Collette McGuire and Kerry (Connie) Worthington.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Celebration of Life will be 1 pm, Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Elliott Mortuary chapel with Pastor Brad Burkholder officiating. The family will greet one prior to the service.
