Jim Ecker's Obituary
NICKERSON - Jim Ecker, 78, died Nov. 20, 2006, at Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born Sep. 30, 1928, in Hollidaysburg, Pa., the son of Paul Edwin and Grace Elizabeth Glunt Ecker. A resident of Nickerson the past three months, moving from California, he worked for McDonnel Douglas Aircraft for 31 years.
He served in the U.S. Army.
On June 12, 1953, he married Joyce Barrett in California. She survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, James E., Wyoming, Gary and Bobby, both of Calif.; three daughters, Robin Remp and Lori Ecker, both of Calif., and Deborah Bartholomew, Nickerson; two brothers, Ron and Ray, both of Pennsylvania; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Johnny, and Donald; and a sister, Jane.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Elliott Chapel with the Rev. Kim Biery presiding. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel. Cremation has taken place.
