Jimmie "Papa" Duane Mack Gore, 72, died Aug. 20, 2016, at his home in Nickerson. He was born Dec. 21, 1943, in Sawyer, to Leslie Mack and Susie Lillian (Douthart) Gore.
He was a 1962 graduate of Sawyer High School and retired from Eaton Corp.
On July 24, 1988, Jimmie married Sue Ellen Demoret in Hutchinson. She survives. Jimmie was previously married to Meredith Johnson and Janet Ragland. Other survivors include: children, Teresa Gore of Hutchinson, Linda Cooper of South Hutchinson, Jeffrey Gore of Emporia; stepson, Kenny Bankey of Nickerson; grandchildren, Dezarae Haley of Illinois, Britney Sutton of Nickerson, Bryant Sutton of Hutchinson, Dustin Belote of Hutchinson, Jayla Gore of Buhler, Jameson Gore of Emporia, Adalyn Sheahan-Landes of Buhler, Lola Bankey of Wichita; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Gore of Hutchinson, Roger Gore of Jay, Okla.; sister, Susie Bullock of Cleveland, Texas. He was preceded in death by: his parents; grandson, Christopher Robert Freeman; brothers, Alvin Keith, David Lee, and Jerry Douglas Gore.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with Nathan Hooker presiding. Friends may sign the memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, with the family to receive friends from noon until service time Saturday at Elliott Mortuary.
