Jimmie D. Walborn, 85, died Jan. 6, 2006, at North Kansas City, Mo., Hospital E.R.
He was born Dec. 12, 1920, in Arlington, the son of Daniel Ervin and Minnie Belle Cecil Walborn. He attended Arlington Elementary and Senior High Schools, both in Arlington. A longtime Hutchinson resident, he was a machinist for Cessna, retiring after 30 plus years.
He belonged to Bethany Church of the Nazarene. He served in the U.S. Army Artillery during World War II, being stationed in Alaska.
On March 12, 1948, he married Dolores Marguerite Bussart in Salina. She died May 24, 1998.
Survivors include: two daughters, Vicki Diemer, Gladstone, Mo., and Brenda Wiederstein, Lincoln, Neb.; three grandsons; and two stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and sisters.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Terry Walborn presiding. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery, with military graveside rites conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard.
