Jimmy Charles "Jim" Skinner, 70, died Oct. 7, 2006, at Hospice House.
He was born July 19, 1936, in Canton, Texas, the son of Johnny and Jewel Pearlee Patrick Skinner. He was owner of Skinner Discount Center.
He belonged to New Hope Baptist Church, Hutchinson, and served with the National Guard.
On May 4, 1987, he married Theresa Rose Pruitt in Reno, Nev. She survives.
Other survivors include: children, Lynda Gail Bruce (Ronnie) Canton, Texas, Carla Page McClure (Charles), Santa Barbara, Calif., Lutetia Vee Skinner, Marquette, and James Charles Skinner, Kansas; six grandchildren, Dustin Bruce, Elaine McClure, Natalie McClure, Jenny Martin, Chynna Skinner and Taylor Friesen; and a great-grandson, Austin Bruce.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Charles Keith Skinner.
Graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with Pastor Harold E. Nelson presiding. His casket will remain closed. Friends may sign the book from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
