Joan M. Bontrager, age 96, passed away April 1, 2026, at Legend of Hutchinson. Joan was born July 16, 1929, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Charles and Hazel (Chitwood) Rampenthal.

Joan is survived by: daughters, Cindy Van Dellen and husband Casey of Scottdale, AZ, Patty Bringhurst and husband Ron of Phoenix, AZ; four grandchildren, Lauren and Tierney Bringhurst, Jessica and Aaron Clark, Joel and Maria McCue; three great-grandchildren, Michaela and Avery Clark and Ellis McCue; nephew, Gary and Liz Yoder; niece, Janet Woods; and special friends, Gary and Jo Johnson.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; brother, Howard Rampenthal; sisters, Charlotte Rucker, Aline Yoder and Melva Bornholdt; and companion, Max Montgomery.

A private family graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson.
