ARLINGTON - Joan Maxine Breidenstein, 84, died May 31, 2010.
She was born August 31, 1925, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Orie and Nema Hindsley Lindahl.
A 1943 graduate of Plevna High School, she attended Sterling College, then taught at Hopewell, a one-room schoolhouse, and later was a homemaker.
She was active in the Plevna Community Bible Church and then Arlington United Methodist Church as organist, Women's Fellowship, U.M.W. Day Circle, a Brownie Scout leader, and attended Senior Citizen's, and RSVP.
On July 20, 1946, she married Carl H. Breidenstein at her parent's home near Arlington. He survives.
Their children and spouses include: Larry and Carolyn Breidenstein, Arlington, and Cheryl Wardlaw, South Hutchinson; three granddaughters and their spouses, Carina and Andy Broxterman, Kyle and Josh Welliver, and Kristi and Chad Loudenback; six great-grandchildren, Ben, Jill and Josie Broxterman, Sam and Kennedy Welliver, and Addisyn Loudenback.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son.
Graveside service will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, June 3, 2010, in Arlington Cemetery. Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Ken Keeling officiating. Her casket will remain closed. Friends may sign her register from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
