Joan Marie Dick, 79, died Oct. 20, 2014, at Hospice House. She was born Feb. 2, 1935, to Paul Andrew and Alvina Bertha Krehbiel Schrag in rural Harvey County.
She was a music teacher, teaching out of her home for over 50 years. She taught vocal, organ and piano lessons.
On Nov. 18, 1954, she married Clifford Melvin Dick in Halstead, Kan. He survives. Other survivors include: sons, Greg Dick and wife Marie of Hutchinson, Alex Dick and wife Michelle of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Adam Dick, Jordan Dick, all of Hutchinson, Jacob Dick of Parsons, Kan.; granddaughter, Natalie Dick of Hutchinson; great-granddaughter, Elise Dick; brothers, Robert Schrag, Merle Schrag and Paul Schrag; sister, Marlene Barton. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, John Matthew Dick, one sister and three brothers.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 24, 2014, at First Mennonite Church, 52 Rambler Rd., Hutchinson, Kan., with Pastor Tonya Ramer Wenger and Pastor Nathan Koontz presiding. Burial will follow in Burrton Municipal Cemetery, Burrton, Kan. Friends may call Thursday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with the family to receive friends Thursday 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. all at Elliott Mortuary.
