Joan "Dorothy" Hemel, 73, died Aug. 11, 2008, at Hutchinson.
She was born Jan. 13, 1935, the daughter of Fred Elias and Carrie Williams Farmer.
On Feb. 7, 1986, she married Clifford Hemel in Ness City. He died Jan. 27, 1991.
Survivors include: brother, Marvin Farmer; and sister, Wanda Webb; a nephew, Glenn E. Anderson; niece, Sandra S. Anderson; and many more nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Dighton Cemetery, Dighton. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
Memorials to the American Diabetes Association or the Reno County Food Bank.
