M. Joan Tedford, 92, died March 8, 2015, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born Nov. 19, 1922, in Hutchinson, to Joseph C. "Joe" and Dorothy M. (Fisher) Hovious.
Joan graduated from Hutchinson High School, worked for Weeks Drug Store and then became a homemaker. Joan enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.
On Oct. 11, 1943, she married James W. "Ted" Tedford in Hutchinson. He died April 27, 2000. Joan is survived by: son, Jim Tedford and wife Rayna of Arvada, Colo.; daughters, Sue Tedford and Sally Tedford; brother, Dale Hovious and wife Carolyn; sisters-in-law, Esther Hovious and Judy Hovious, all of Hutchinson; half brother, Jimmie Joe Hovious, Bakersfield, Calif.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents; brothers, Jay and John Hovious; and sister, Rosemary Saunders.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2015, at Eastside Cemetery, Hutchinson, with Lay Pastor Rita Wildin officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
