JoAnn "Jo" Louise Allen, 88, of Wichita, died November 2, 2022, at her home. She was born May 29, 1934, in Garden City, to Ralph H. and LaVona R. (Becraft) Cooley.
Jo graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1952, and attended Hutchinson Junior College. On December 10, 1954, she married Burton (Bob) H. Allen, in Hutchinson. He passed away September 9, 1991.
Jo was employed at the Dillon's office and warehouse where she began in the advertising department as a secretary. Jo was later promoted to an executive in the advertising department until she was promoted to head the floral department. Jo was in charge of over 50 floral departments at Dillon's Grocery Stores. She retired in 1996.
In addition, Jo was passionate about spending time with family and friends. No one loved to laugh more than Jo, whether she was playing card or board games or just hanging out in the backyard at the pool. She was an active member of the First Congregational Church in Hutchinson and truly loved her church family. Jo was proud to attend and serve with the Women's Fellowship there.
As a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, "Jomama" was always there for family, as they were the love of her life.
Jo is survived by: her children, David Allen of Wichita and Janice Garbooshian of Redmond, WA; grandchildren, Christine Smith and Kimberly Villanueva, both of Wichita; and 5 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Ralph and LaVona Cooley; husband, Bob; and sister, Loretta Hinkle.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 21, 2022, at First Congregational Church, 3410 N. Plum St., Hutchinson, with Pastor Matt Stafford officiating.

Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday at Elliott Mortuary.
