JoAnna Kerschner, 80, died May 28, 2016, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community, Buhler. She was born Octo. 5, 1935, in Kirksville, Mo., to Dr. Robert and Elvera (Chindberg) Aelmore.

She was an elementary teacher in Hutchinson and Haven for 35 years. JoAnna was also a field representative for the Bureau of Census, a therapist for DECCA, as well as a realtor.

She married Rex Kerschner on Aug. 16, 1959. They later divorced. Survivors include: her daughter, Rexanne Kerschner and granddaughters, Madison and Bailey Beauchamp, all of Goddard. She was preceded in death by: her parents; brothers, Dr. Augustus C. Aelmore and Robert Lee Aelmore.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2016, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. in the McPherson City Cemetery, McPherson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Elliott Mortuary. Memorials may be made to Gentiva Hospice or the Loyal Order of Moose #982, both in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N.
