Joanne M. Bowers, 75, died December 12, 2009, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.
She was born July 21, 1934, in Pottsville, Pa, the daughter of Joseph Albert and Mary Elizabeth Bawn Purcell.
She graduated from St. Patrick's High School in Pottsville, she was a homemaker.
On August 13, 1955, she married James L. Bowers in Pottsville. He died October 17, 1984.
Survivors include: three sons, James J. Bowers and wife Debbie of Edwardsport, Ind., Joseph J. Bowers and wife Rhonda of Manhattan, and David J. Bowers and wife Teresa of Hutchinson; a brother, Joseph Purcell Jr., of Pottsville, Pa.; seven grandchildren, Jimmy Bowers and wife Kari, Jessica Osbourne and husband Bart, Ashley, Sarah, and Katie Bowers, and David and Hollie Bowers; and three great grandchildren.
Private family graveside service will be in Resthaven Cemetery, Wichita.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice, in care of Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
