Joeley James (Joe) Rohling, 34, died August 20, 2023, at his home in Lawrence, KS. He was born July 4, 1989, in Hutchinson, to Gary Lee and Cynthia J. (Hatcher) Rohling.

Formerly of Hutchinson, Joe graduated from Millard West High School, Omaha, NE, in 2007. He attended University of Nebraska in Omaha. He worked in sales for a food service company in Omaha and Lawrence.

Joe was a huge sports fan, especially NFL football and college basketball. He also enjoyed playing golf with his brother, Riley, and their mutual friends.

Joe is survived by his mother and stepfather, Cindy Shufelberger (Steve) of Lawrence; sister, Bayley Rohling, of Lawrence; brother and sister-in-law, Riley and Beth Rohling, of Papillion, NE; brother, Shaun Shufelberger, of Kansas City, MO; sister, Sara Shufelberger Luna, of Topeka; grandfather, Duane Shufelberger, of Topeka; nieces, Victoria Valencia, Mackenzie, Jaybe and Alexis Shufelberger; nephew, Isaiah Luna; and many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Rohling; maternal and paternal grandparents.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 29, at Elliott Mortuary. A short memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., conducted by Father Jerome Spexarth.
