JoEtta J. Ediger, 65, died May 6, 2016, at her home. She was born October 18, 1950, in Newton, to Howard C. and Hilda R. (Ediger) Schierling. JoEtta graduated from Inman High School in 1968, Grace University, Omaha, NE in 1971, and from Adela Hale Business College in 1972. She was a member of Crestview Bible Church. JoEtta was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. Outside the home, she worked at Robert's Printing, Alco, Allie's Deli, and Wycliffe Bible Translators.
On January 30, 1988, she married Gary L. Ediger in Inman. They shared 28 years of marriage.
Survivors include: her husband, Gary of the home; children, Greg Hanna and wife Sarah of Independence, MO, Doug Hanna and wife Angela of Ft. Worth, TX, Dusti Ivey and husband Darren of Manhattan, Buffi Bashore and husband Rodger of McPherson; mother, Hilda Schierling of Inman; sisters, Donna Thiessen and husband Lyle of Hutchinson, Dorothy Luty and husband Mike of Inman; and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Schierling and sister, Joan Frobenius.
Cremation has taken place.
Celebration of Life service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at Crestview Bible Church, 2401 N. Halstead, Hutchinson, with Pastor Phil Auxier officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9-5 today through Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bible Broadcasting Network or Union Rescue Mission of Wichita, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
