John R. Baker's Obituary
John R. "Johnny" Baker, 69, of Hutchinson, died June 17, 2009, at Hospice House in Hutchinson.
He was born Oct. 22, 1939, in Great Bend, the son of John W. "Jack" and Velma E. Hopper Baker.
He was a 1957 graduate of Hutchinson High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was retired from the Maintenance Dept. at Doskocil's.
John was a member of the "Prairie Pups" Motorcycle Club and was active in the "Toys for Tots" Motorcycle Run.
Survivors include: a daughter Kelly R. Bray, and her husband Jeff, Hutchinson; a sister, Jean Crouch, Lantana, Texas; three granddaughters, Kayla, Sahra and Lora.
He has been cremated. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, June 20 at his residence, 4714 E. 69th Ave., Hutchinson. His ashes will be scattered on his land at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests only live plants and memorial contributions to John Baker Granddaughters' College Education Fund, sent in care of the Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, 67501.
