John Dankanyin, 78, died March 13, 2022, at Hutchinson Health and Rehab in Hutchinson. John was born on December 27, 1943, to Margaret Dankanyin, in Farrell PA.

John graduated from Reynolds High School, Greenville, PA, in 1962. On June 27, 1964, John married Kathleen Cavanaugh at South Hutchinson United Methodist Church. John served 35 years in the military, retiring as a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force. His military career included, the United States Air Force, the Air National Guard and the Army National Guard. John was a man of many talents who loved rock carving, planting flowers and building fish ponds. John retired as a Master Sergeant from Hutchinson Correctional Facility in 2010.

John is survived by: wife, Kathleen of the home; daughter, Danna (Steve Dick) Dankanyin, Hutchinson; son, Paul (Nathalie) Dankanyin, Canada; granddaughter, Brandi Buzzard, TX; grandson, Jackson Buzzard, Hutchinson; brother, Paul (Brenda) Dankanyin, DE; brothers-in-law, Daniel (Pam) Cavanaugh, WI, John (LeAnne) Cavanaugh, SC; former son-in-law, Mike Buzzard, Inman; and his beloved dog Ol' Cavanaugh.

John is preceded in death by: his parents; and grandson Michael Gray Buzzard.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. Memorials can be made to the Hutchinson Animal Shelter, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main St., Hutchinson, KS, 67501.
