John R. Evans' Obituary
John R. Evans, 68, died Dec. 5, 2012, at Hospice House. He was born Nov. 7, 1944, in Hutchinson, to Richard L. Jr. and Alice C. (Gunn) Evans.
John graduated from K-State in 1966 where he was an AGR fraternity member and came back to Hutchinson to farm with his father.
He is survived by: wife, Gloria Evans; son, Mark Evans; daughter, Laurie Evans; mother, Alice Evans; sister, Marty Tokarchik and husband Ron; nephews, Jeff and Kevin Baumgarten; and three grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his father and sister, Nancy. Cremation has taken place.
Celebration of Life Services will be 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, with Reverend Dr. Kim Biery officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to service time Friday at the mortuary.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice House of Reno County or Johnson Cancer Research Foundation Center at Kansas State University, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
