John William Griffin, 82, died March 21, 2023, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. He was born October 16, 1940, in Hutchinson, to William and Doris (Lanning) Griffin.

John graduated from Nickerson High School in 1958. He was a farmer and a true cattleman. John was always outgoing. He played pitch every weekend and also enjoyed dancing and gardening. John was a big basketball fan and supported KU, KState, and HCC. Other than farming, his greatest passion was travel.

John is survived by: his life partner, Gina Glenn, Nickerson; daughter, Jennifer Rueschhoff (Jason), Blue Springs, Missouri; and grandchildren, Michael Bugner, Kansas City, Olivia Garcia, Kansas City, Bella Garcia, Lawrence, Jacob Rueschhoff, Kansas City.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; sister, Joyce Hase; daughter, Gail Bugner; son, David Griffin; and grandson, Russell Griffin.

Funeral service will be 10 am Monday, March 27, 2023, at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 8 pm Sunday with family present from 5 to 7 pm at Elliott Mortuary.
