John G. Harrison, 96, died November 12, 2023, at Newton Presbyterian Manor, Newton, KS.  He was born November 30, 1926, in Wichita, KS, to Sylvester O. Harrison and Beulah (Yutesler) Harrison.

John was a graduate of Hutchinson Community College, formerly Hutchinson Community Junior College, Hutchinson, KS.  He served in the United States Merchant Marines, as well as the United States Army and the United States Air Force.  John was proud of his military service.  He was a lifelong Mason with the Masonic-32nd Degree.  John enjoyed golfing at the Newton Country Club.  He retired as a Sales Manager for Excel Industries in Hesston, KS.

On March 2, 1945, he married Betty J. Price, in Los Angeles, CA.  They shared over 69 years of marriage, prior to her death on November 27, 2014.

John is survived by:  his nephew, Jim (Jan) Lee; nieces, Katie Flora, Nancy (Dale) Goss, and Stephanie (Darren) Temple; sister-in-law, Jerry Harrison; two great-nieces; two great-nephews; and seven great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife; nephew, Jeffrey Harrison; sister, Ann Harrison; and brother, Jay Harrison.

Private Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date.  John will be buried at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, KS.
