John D. Jones, 86, of Hutchinson, died January 1, 2025, at his residence. He was born March 4, 1938, in Burrton to Lloyd and Mabel (Smith) Jones.

John attended Partridge High School and graduated with the class of 1956. He earned his bachelor's degree from Kansas State University. John was an enthusiastic Wildcat fan, especially for basketball and football. He had a large heart and enjoyed the company of all animals. John was very family oriented and had a special bond with his Irish Twin sister, Patricia.

John is survived by: beloved sister, Patricia Schrag of Overland Park; nephews, Joel (Glen Peppel) Schrag of Washington, D.C., Michael (Sheila) Kaegi of South Hutchinson, Tim (Marsha) Kaegi of rural Burrton, Clayton "Bud" Kaegi of South Hutchinson; nieces, Hope (Mark) Cannon of Overland Park, and Jennifer Schrag of Medford, OR.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; sisters, Shirley Jones, Nita House, and Betty Kaegi.

Friends may sign the book Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Private family services will be held.
