John Estrella, Jr., 58, died Feb. 27, 2011, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born Aug. 5, 1952, in Hutchinson, the son of John and Katherine Lieker Estrella. He graduated from Trinity High School, Hutchinson, in 1971. He was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church and the V.F. W. Bob Campbell Post #1361 Men's Auxiliary. A lifetime resident of Hutchinson, he was a mechanic for Krause Plow for 38 years.

On May 21, 1990, he married Debra S. McHaley in Hutchinson. She survives. Other survivors include: a son, Joshua Estrella and wife Brandy, Hutchinson; a daughter, Janelle Ortiz, Topeka; a stepson, Tim Flinn, Hutchinson; a stepdaughter, Stacey Watson and husband Jim, Hutchinson; parents, John Sr. and Katherine Estrella, Hutchinson; a sister, Kathy Hedrich, Hutchinson and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Ann Estrella and Rose Marie Howard.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel with Father Nicholas Voelker presiding. Friends may call 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson.
