Obituary

John Samuel Nisly, 81, went to be with Jesus May 27, 2014, at Mennonite Friendship Communities after a brief battle with cancer. He was born Feb. 25, 1933, in Hutchinson, the son of Samuel and Delila (Beiler) Nisly.

John was a Singer sewing machine sales and repairman.

On June 7, 1953, he married Sylvia Nisly, of Hutchinson. She survives.

Other survivors include: children, Joye and Ellis Miller, JJ and Joy Nisly, Joan and Hank Yoder, Jeannie and Tim Miller, JD and Pam Nisly, all of Hutchinson, Janie and Randy Ediger of Inman, Kan.; two brothers and a sister, all of Hutchinson; 24 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters; a brother; and a granddaughter.

Viewing will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2014, at Plainview Mennonite Church, 5610 W Trail West Rd., Hutchinson. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2014, at the church, with pastors Jeremy Miller and Terry Yoder presiding. Burial will follow at the Plainview Cemetery.
