John Steward Of Jesus' Obituary
John Steward of Jesus, 70, died Friday, Jan. 27, 2012. He was born at his family farm home outside Sioux Center, Iowa, the son of Dick and Hilda Kiel Addink.
He lived in this area since 1989, had been a graduate of Western Christian High School, Hull, Iowa, a graduate of Calvin College in 1962, and Calvin Seminary in 1967, living as a follower of Jesus Christ and doing as the Lord leads. He had been a school teacher, realtor, farmer, pastor and in his later years, a painter.
On June 20, 1967, he married Mary Jean Bloemendaal in Sioux Center, Iowa.
He is also survived by: their children, Dirk Addink and wife Kristi Brown of Keller, Texas, Maria and husband Lee Glide of Loveland, Colo.; his father of Sioux Center, Iowa; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother in 2011.
His memorial service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012, at Elliott Chapel with Dave Roper presiding. Memorial gifts may be made to Gospel for Asia or MCC, in care of the mortuary.
