John Wayne Phillips, 75, died March 10, 2024, at Hospice House, Hutchinson, KS.  He was born June 26, 1948, in Hutchinson, KS, to Richard William Phillips and Ila M. (Hodges) Phillips.

John was a 1966 graduate of Nickerson High School, Nickerson, KS.  He was employed as a machinist at Eaton Corporation, Hutchinson, KS, and retired with over 35 years of service.  John was a member of Mitchell Chapel United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, KS.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by: his sons, Tracy (Kim) Phillips of Hutchinson, KS, and Todd (Amy) Phillips of Wichita, KS; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and Connie Lattimer, mother of Tracy, Tommy, and Todd.

John was preceded in death by:  his parents; son, Tommy Phillips; and sister, Vickie O'Neal.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Mitchell Chapel United Methodist Church, 5512 N. Pennington, Hutchinson, KS. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary.  Cremation has taken place.
