John R. Roberts' Obituary
John R. Roberts, 66, of Hutchinson, died Jan. 9, 2012, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
He was born Nov. 15, 1945, in Hutchinson, Kan., the son of Eldon and Tressie Cummings Roberts.
A resident of Hutchinson, he was a 1965 graduate of Hutchinson High School, attended Hutchinson Community College, worked in Electrical and refrigeration maintenance at Doskocils in South Hutchinson and was in the Army National Guard.
He married Kathryn Wilkin on Feb. 20, 1972, in Hutchinson. She survives.
Other survivors include: sons, J. Shane Roberts of Cascade, Colo., and Joe Roberts and wife Brandi; daughters, Gia Unruh and husband Mike of Galva and Johna Roberts; mother, Tressie Roberts of Hutchinson; brother, Jerry Roberts of Hutchinson; sisters, Kathy Yoder of Hutchinson, Gayle Railsback of Hutchinson, Judy Voeltz of Hutchinson, and Jo Lynne Seaton of Arlington; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father.
Cremation has taken place. Celebration of Life will be 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at The High Rise Building, 441 N. Washington in South Hutchinson.
Memorials may be made to Salvation Army or Hutchinson Animal Shelter, in care of Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, Hutchinson.
