John Raigosa Jr., 73, died Jan. 3, 2007, at the Robert J. Dole V.A. Medical Center, Wichita.
He was born July 28, 1933, in Goddard, the son of Juan and Maria Louisa Perez Raigosa Sr. A resident of Hutchinson since 1957, moving from Wichita Falls, Texas, he worked in woodworking for Shawnee Planeing Mill, then Architectural Mill, he retired from Electrex. Following his retirement, he was a delivery driver for Coberly Drug, and did morning preparations for Taco Bell.
He belonged to St. Teresa's Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
On Oct. 5, 1955, he married Josephine Loretta Trujillo in Wichita Falls, Texas. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Jonnie D. and wife, Anne, Hutchinson; a daughter, Candace J. Raigosa, Hutchinson; a brother, Marcelino, Wichita; a sister, Lucia Navarro Raigoza, Wichita; two grandchildren, Kandi Talley and husband Matt, and Angel Raigosa and wife, LaDonna; and four great-grandchildren, Madisen Talley, Matthew Talley Jr., Antonio Raigosa, and Dominic Raigosa.
Rosary will be at 5 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Chapel, Hutchinson. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Teresa's Catholic Church with Father Ned Blick and Father Stuart M. Smeltzer presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, with military graveside rites conducted by the McConnell Air Force Base Honor Guard.
