John W. Redenbaugh, 81, died May 23, 2007, at Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born April 17, 1926, in rural southern Kansas, the son of Wiley F. and Leola May Gordon Redenbaugh. A longtime resident of California, moving to Hutchinson in November 1994, he was an auto paint and body technician for 60 years, last working for Highway 96 Paint and Body, Yoder.
He belonged to Mount Olivet Worship Center. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He married Martha Lang. She died in 1991. On Nov. 27, 1994, he married Carolee Wilkes in Hutchinson. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Tom and wife, Janice, Williams, Calif.; a daughter, Janet Naas and husband, Richard, Greenville, Calif.; a stepson, Randy Wilkes and wife, Delores, Maize; a stepdaughter, Connie King and husband, Merlin, Wetmore; two brothers, Elliott, Wichita, and Wiley, Lawrence; two sisters, Betty Black, Chaparral, N.M., and Mary Hargrave, Haven; five grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Sherman, Doyle and Richard; and two sisters, Shirley Crow and Erma Sipp.
Funeral will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastors Kenn and Luanne Haddaway presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the family present from 3 to 4 p.m. Monday.
