John Leroy Scott, 65, passed away February 4, 2022, at his home, in Hutchinson, KS.  He was born November 16, 1956, in Hutchinson, to Graydon Leroy and Dora Mignon (Thrasher) Scott.  John was a graduate of Hutchinson High School.

John's passion was in the food service world and was a long-term employee of Luby's Cafeteria in Arizona and Texas.  He was of the Methodist faith.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Graydon Leroy Scott and Dora Mignon Scott, and a nephew, Troy Harrell.

He is survived by:  his sisters, Laura (Jim) Harrell of Sardis, MS, and Nan (Jerry) Hawver of Hutchinson; brother, Steve (Michelle) Scott of Wichita; niece, Jill (Scott) Peck; nephews, Tab Harrell, Chris Hawver, Matt

Scott, and Corey Scott; and numerous great-nephews and cousins.

John's constant companion was his dog, Gizmo.  His favorite spot was the Hutchinson Dog Park, where they spent many hours together.

Private family graveside service will be Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in John's name are suggested to Cause for Paws, Inc., to benefit the dog park, in care of Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
