John G. Walters, 86, died Nov. 11, 2005, at Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born Sept. 11, 1919, in Hutchinson, the son of Conrad H. and Sarah J. Gilbert Walters. He graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1937. A lifetime Hutchinson resident, he was a painting contractor and co-owner of Allied Painting for over 30 years.
He belonged to Faith United Methodist Church and the Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge No. 124 A.F. and A.M. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II.
On Sept. 26, 1937, he married Ruth M. Birket at Hutchinson. She died April 16, 2004.
Survivors include: two sons, Ronald, Gladstone, Mo., and Larry, Hutchinson; a daughter, Pamela Jones, Wichita; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Memorial Park Cemetery, with rites conducted by the Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge No. 124 A.F. and A.M. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
