Obituary

SOUTH HUTCHINSON - Johnnie Heintzman, 87, died Oct. 17, 2006, at his home, South Hutchinson.

He was born Jan. 14, 1919, in Onaka, S.D., the son of Frank and Margaret Heier Heintzman. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in World War II as a tank mechanic. A resident of South Hutchinson since 1967, moving from Leola, S.D., he was former owner and operator of Heintzman's Automotive and a kitchen cabinet and clock shop, South Hutchinson.

He belonged to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

He married Margaret Bosch. She died in 1959. On July 28, 1967, he married Theresa L. Mitzel in Hutchinson. She survives.

Other survivors include: three sons, John and wife, Jan, Copperas Cove, Texas, Thomas and wife, Mardi, Hutchinson, and Joe and wife, Brenda, Denver; three daughters, Sandy Smith and husband, Scott, Kathy Deming and husband, Al, all of Hutchinson, and Angela Franz and husband, Daniel, Austin, Texas; three stepchildren, Randy Bryant and wife, Marge, David Bryant and wife, Jody, all of Hutchinson, and Julie Thompson and husband, Craig, Pretty Prairie; two brothers, Roy, South Dakota, and Leonard Beinfit, Minnesota; four sisters, Agnes Imberi, Rose Fix, Tillie Mehlhaff and Ann Vetch, all of South Dakota; 18 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Peter; two sisters, Mary and Clemie; and a grandson, James David "Buddy" Bryant.

Parish rosary will be 10 a.m. Friday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson, with Father Ned J. Blick presiding. Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
