INMAN - Johnnie William Nickel, 66, died June 22, 2012, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Wichita. He was born March 21, 1946, in Goessel, the son of John F. and Olga (Ratzloff) Nickel.

In 1964 he graduated from Hillsboro High School. Johnnie retired as a welder from Moridge Inc. in Moundridge. He attended Grace Bible Church, in Hutchinson. On Sept. 20, 1968, he married Carol Herbel in Durham, Kan. She survives. Other survivors include: a daughter, Natalie Nickel of Hutchinson; a son, John Nickel of Kansas City, Mo.; three brothers, Wesley Nickel, Lonnie Nickel, and Leo Nickel; a sister, Lila Koop; and a grandson, Noah Tajchman. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Willis Nickel.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at Grace Bible Church, 1221 E 33rd, Hutchinson, with Reverend Rick Goertzen presiding. Friends may call 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Grace Bible Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
