Johnny Leroy Davis, 74, of Hutchinson, died October 24, 2024, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. He was born May 22, 1950, in Hutchinson, to Granville C. "Red" and DeEtta E. (Gilliland) Davis.

Johnny graduated from Hutchinson High School. He served in the United States Navy from 1969-1971. Johnny worked as a corrections officer at KSIR/HCF for many years, retiring as a sergeant in 2002. He also worked and had a restaurant at the Kansas State Fair for many years. Johnny was a member of Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge #124 A.F. & A.M.

He is survived by: companion, Dot Davis; daughters, Susan, Tessa, RayEtta; grandchildren, Lisa, Kelsey, Thomas, Colton; great-grandson, Xander; sisters, Barbara Barringer (Norman), Jerrie Pitts (Bill), Theresa Salmans (Gary); many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Johnny was preceded in death by: his parents, infant brother, Granville C. Davis Jr., sister, Linda Brown; and grandson, Darren.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, October 29-30, 2024, with family present to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or Reno County Veterans' Memorial, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
