Johnny Dean Holmes, 82, of Haven, died November 18, 2020, at Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center. He was born September 22, 1938, in Bostol Pool, Oklahoma, to Dallas Holmes and Doris (Presnell) Braswell.

After high school John joined the United States Army, serving for three years. He was a business owner for JP Sales. John loved to bowl and did so for many years. He was a member at Haven Church of Christ.

On August 8, 1959, he married Patsy Lou Schoonover in Redondo Beach, California. They shared 61 years together.

John is survived by: wife, Patsy Holmes, Haven; daughters, Denise Geffert, Haven, and Vickie Lanning (Brian), Wichita; daughter-in-law, Martha Holmes, Haven; grandson, Justin Lanning (Maddie), Park City; granddaughter, Sarah Ensz (Taylor), Haven; and great-grandchildren, Jay Lanning, Adeline Ensz, and Jesse Ensz.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Jay Dean Holmes.

A private family burial will take place in Haven Priest Cemetery.
