Johnny L. Scott, 68, died April 4, 2016, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. He was born Sept. 20, 1947, to Ellis and JoAnna (Lowry) Scott in Lenapah, Okla. Johnny served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, and was a member of Teamsters Local #795. He retired from Dillon's Perishable Warehouse in 2015. Johnny had many passions, one being he enjoyed time with his family and friends, gardening, and being outdoors doing something, and mostly he enjoyed attending and watching his favorite sports teams whenever he could.
On Sept. 21, 1982, Johnny married Dianna M. O'Brien in Hutchinson. She survives. Other survivors include: daughter, Laurie Scott Castor and Michael Brandt of Hutchinson; granddaughters, Sierra Castor and Dylan Sallee, Kaylee Morton and husband Alex; great-granddaughters, Grace and Ava Sallee; sisters, Dorothy King of Bernice, Okla., Betty Smith and husband Everett of Coffeyville; brothers, Earl Scott and wife Joyce of Bartlesville, Okla., Jim Scott and wife Annette of Bennington, Robert Scott and wife Betty of St. Mary's, Ga.; mother and father-in-law, Jack O'Brien and wife Doris of Kansas City, Mo.; several brothers and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Johnny. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ricky; and brother, Paul Scott.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Matt Stafford presiding. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Air Force honor guard. Friends may sign the memorial book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Friday with the family to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April, 7, 2016, at Elliott Mortuary.
