Josefina "Josephine" Anzo, 89, died Oct. 31, 2007, at Hospice House.
She was born Oct. 7, 1918, in Lamar, Colo., the daughter of Sotero and Guadelupe Torres Vieyra. A resident of Hutchinson for over 50 years, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, South Hutchinson, the Ladies Altar Society at the church, and the American G.I. Forum.
On May 16, 1959, she married Rafael Anzo in Hutchinson. He died in May 1962.
Survivors include: a daughter, Raphaela Garcia, Hutchinson; stepchildren, Augustine, Fountain Valley, Calif., Ralph, Hutchinson, Jesse, Northern, Calif., and Andres, Mexico City, Mexico, Wanda Strouse, Hutchinson, Helen Alonzo, Hutchinson, Ruth Ramirez, Emporia, and Alice Trujillo, San Fernando Valley, Calif.; four grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three stepsons, Tony, Joe and Phillip Anzo.
Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, South Hutchinson. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, with Father Ruben Ortiz presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park.
