PARTRIDGE - Joseph E. "Joe" Mascorro, 72, died Jan. 11, 2012, at his home in Partridge. He was born Jan. 16, 1939, in Arlington, Texas, the son of Mercurio Jr. and Evelyne (Moore) Mascorro.
A US Navy veteran, he left active duty in 1963 for service in the Reserves for another 20 years. He was a member of the Partridge Community Church, the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68, and he served as the Partridge City Council President. Joe retired from the Hutchinson Correctional Facility.

He married Glenna Irene Tye and to that marriage was born a daughter, Cassandra Mascorro. He then married Joleen Marie Doering on Aug. 22, 1994, in Partridge. She survives. Other survivors include: four children, David Mascorro, Stephanie Kramer, and Debora Steiner and husband David, all of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Tami Haflich of Hutchinson; two brothers, Tony Mascorro and wife Elizabeth and Michael Mascorro and wife Cheryl, all of Hutchinson; nine grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at Partridge Community Church, with Reverend R. Samuel Askew presiding. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Cremation has taken place. Memorials may be made to the Partridge Community Church, in care of the mortuary.
