Joseph H. Heim, 82, died April 13, 2015, at Dillon Living Center, Hutchinson. He was born Oct. 23, 1932, in Hutchinson, the son of Robert and Ina (Borders) Heim.
Joe was a graduate of Buhler High School and Hutchinson Junior College. He married Janice Smith Morgan on Nov. 8, 2003, in Hutchinson. He was a retired lineman with KP&L/Westar, working there 33 years. Joe was a member of Loyal Order of the Moose #982, Bob Campbell VFW Post #1361, American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68 and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II.
He is survived by: his wife, Janice; son, Robert Heim of Nixa, Mo.; daughter, Pamela Smith and husband Jeffrey of Clever, Mo.; stepson, Chad Morgan and wife Vicki of Hutchinson; stepdaughters, Kimberly Rogers of Colorado Springs, Colo., Linda Kollhoff and husband Mike of Hutchinson; brother, Marion Heim of Inman; a grandchild; two great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2015, at the North Inman Cemetery, Inman, with Pastor Willard Stafford officiating. Military service will be conducted by the Ft. Riley Honor Guard. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to noon Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
