PARTRIDGE - Joseph C. "Joe" Huna, 90, died June 3, 2008, at Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born October 3, 1917, in Kanopolis, the son of Frank J. and Teresia Rychietnik Huna.
He was a resident of Partridge since 1958, recently moving to Hutchinson. He was a graduate of Ellsworth High School. He was the owner of the Partridge Grocery Store.
He attended Partridge Community Church and was a member of the WFLA Lodge and the V.F.W. Bob Campbell Post #1361. A World War II Army veteran serving with the 60 Infantry 9th Division from 42-45, he was awarded the Bronze star and the Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster.
On July 1, 1951, he married Grace I. Miller at Partridge. She survives. Other survivors include: a son, Danny Miller and wife Carrolyn of Hutchinson; a daughter, Judy Hobkirk and husband Dick of Wichita; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Charles Huna, brother, Frank Huna and two sisters, Rosa Truhlar and Mary H. Huna.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Rev. R. Samuel Askew presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with family present from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Partridge Cemetery, with military graveside honors conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard.
