Joseph Robert "Joe" Bleger, 59, of Hutchinson, died Oct. 31, 2016, at the family farm in Saxman, Kansas. He was born Feb. 11, 1957, in Hutchinson, to Jack D. and Suzanne (Law) Bleger.
Joe was an Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow with Boy Scout Troop No. 301 at First Presbyterian Church, Hutchinson, and was a 1975 graduate of Hutchinson High School.
He joined Borton Inc., in Hutchinson on Nov. 17, 1986, and was in sales and project management. Joe also volunteered his time to several service organizations, including First Call For Help, Kiwanis Club of Downtown Hutchinson and the former Reno County Chapter of the American Red Cross, where he was a board member.
Survivors include: sister, Deborah Bleger of Detroit; brothers, Steven Bleger and David Bleger, both of Hutchinson; two nephews and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be 9 a.m. Monday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with The Rev. Mark H. Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday at Elliott Mortuary. The casket will remain closed.
