Joseph E. "Joe" White, 78, died Dec. 2, 2011, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.
He was born Aug. 31, 1933, in Wichita, to Joseph Percy and Alice Margaret Kerns White.
Joe graduated from St. Mary's Cathedral in 1952. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #982, Knights of Columbus Council #612, Independent Insurance Agents of Kansas, and Central Kansas Post-Polio Survivors. Joe was an independent insurance agent for 32 years.
On Aug. 17, 1957, he married JoAnne Zanardi in Augusta. She survives.
Other survivors include: son, Timothy J. White and wife Tammi of Newton; two daughters, Paula Richardson and husband Mark of Hutchinson, Diane Fast and husband Don of Newton; two grandchildren, Joseph T. White and Ross L. Richardson; four step-grandchildren, Jeff Fast and wife Karen, Amanda Wurth, Sammy Welch, Ember Burns; four step-great-grandchildren, Kolbie Rae King, Jennifer Fast, Katelyn Fast, Hayden Wurth; three brothers, Jim White and wife Rose Marie of Midland, Texas, Charles Thomas and wife Betty of Wichita, William Allen White and wife Colleen of Wichita; sister, Eleanor "Sis" Parker of Wichita; brother-in-law, William Kennedy and wife Mary of Augusta; mother-in-law, Climena Zanardi of Augusta; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and a brother.
A Parish Rosary will be 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at Church of the Holy Cross, with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 a.m., with Father Joseph Eckberg officiating. Inurnment will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today.
Memorials may be made to Church of the Holy Cross or Central Kansas Post-Polio Survivors, in care of the mortuary.
