Joseph L. "Joe" Kelly, 52, of Hutchinson, unexpectedly died on March 17, 2025. He was born February 6, 1973, in Hutchinson, to Julie Chappel.

Joe was a vivacious man, full of life and love, who was always eager to embrace life's adventures. He loved to be in the great outdoors. Joe took pleasure in working outside and riding his motorcycle. He enjoyed boating, jet skiing, and lake life. Joe had an adventurous spirit and loved to spend time traveling with his family. He was also a very avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and never missed a game.

Joe is survived by: wife, Markisha Carney; children, Quintin Nichols, Justice Nichols, Jaidyn Marquez, and Kaiyah Kelly; brother, Bryan (Katie) Kelly; aunts, Peggy Chappel and Janice (Mike) Mattison; uncle, Jon Chappel; nieces, Cameran Kelly and Ahaunestee; nephews, Kayden and Connor Kelly; cousins, Trisha Collins, Tonya Kelly, Nick (Taylor) Nelson, Tyler Nelson, Tarren Nelson, Bobbi (Troy) Franz, Johnathan Chappel, Kane Chappel, Derrick Chappel, and Abby (Chris) Nelson; mother-in-law, Michelle (Jason) Juarez; sisters-in-law, Asheli Barfield and Chardennae Carney; brothers-in-law, Isiah Barfield, J.J., and Mark Carney Jr.; and many friends and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by: grandmother, Mary Lou Chappel; and mother, Julie Chappel.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel.  Friends may sign his memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Wednesday and Sunday 1 to 5 p.m. Family to receive friends Wednesday, March 26, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
