Joseph G. Previtera, 85, died Sept. 7, 2008 at Dillon Living Center, Hutchinson.
He was born Nov. 21, 1922 in Philadelphia, Pa., the son of Isadore and Olympia Previtera. He was raised in Somerdale, N.J.
Upon joining the Air Force, he was stationed in Salina and then moved to Hutchinson in 1945. He was the owner of Previtera Construction Company. He was raised in the Catholic Faith. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran.
On Oct. 13, 1945, he married Suzanne "Sue" Doerksen in McPherson. She died Feb. 5, 2003.
Survivors include: sons, Joseph A. and wife Janet, Knoxville, Tenn., Gary L. Wichita and Robert G., Wichita; daughter, Susan G. Mc Conaghey and husband Marvin, Beloit; sisters, Mary Steward, Blackwood, N.J. and Minnie Miriello, Somerdale, N.J.; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren and special friend Anna Lou Ellis, Hutchinson.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Isadore, Jr., Tony, Vincent and Salvador Previtera.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson with Pastor Stephen Taylor and Gary Salmans presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park.
