Joseph Lee Trimm Sr., 82, of Abbyville, died on March 10, 2022, at his home. He was born April 8, 1939, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Joseph and Luella (Voulmer) Trimm.

Joe worked for many years at Morton Salt and then as a newspaper carrier for the Hutchinson News. He loved to watch all sports on TV, especially football. Joe used to take many fishing trips with his wife, Shirley. He loved spending time with friends and family.

In November 1983, he married Shirley Ann Williams, in Hutchinson. They shared 40 years together.

Joe is survived by: wife, Shirley Trimm, Abbyville; daughters, Teresa Trimm, Oregon, Dawna Reske (Frank), Massachusetts, Cindy Perez (Tony), Arizona; son, Joseph Trimm Jr. (Billie Jean), Oklahoma; stepdaughters, Sonya Yorgenson, Kansas City, Margret Sellers, Abbyville; stepson, Michael Miller, Kansas City; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild; brothers Garvin Trimm, Warren "Beano" Trimm; and sister, Annie Irwin.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; sisters, Susan and Sandra; brother, David; stepdaughter, April Ann Miller; and grandson, Troy.

Memorial service will be 10 a.m. April 1, 2022, at Abbyville Community Church. Burial will follow in Abbyville Cemetery. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, at Elliott Mortuary.
