Joseph W. "Joe" Shepherd, 76, died February 25, 2015, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born June 23, 1938, near Sylvia, to Marion and Clara (Lawrence) Shepherd. Joe grew up in the Langdon Community and graduated from Langdon High School in 1957. He was a proud United States Navy Veteran, loved his dogs and horses, and visiting with his many friends and cousins. On September 22, 1973, he married Carole L. Goulner in Hutchinson. She died December 29, 2012.

Survivors include: sister, Elizabeth Wright of Santa Fe, N.M.; brother, William Shepherd of Wichita; many friends and a wealth of friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Carole, brothers, Marion, who was lost in the South Pacific during World War II, and John.

Cremation has taken place.

Celebration of life service will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2015, at 8913 South Mohawk Rd., Hutchinson. Memorials may be made to the Hutchinson Animal Shelter, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 North Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
