Joshua Scott 'Josh' Holmes, 26, of Hutchinson, died Wednesday, December 6, 2017, in Stafford County. He was born March 29, 1991, in Garden City, to Brian and Stacy (Hendrix) Holmes.

Josh graduated from Hutchinson High School in 2009 and had attended Hutchinson Community College. For almost five years, he worked as a food service supervisor at Wesley Towers. Josh loved fishing, nature, and collecting bugs, scorpions, and snakes. He also enjoyed riding his mopeds and motorcycles. Josh's love for his hobbies was second, though, to his love for his precious daughter, Aubrey Jo.

Josh is survived by: parents, Stacy and Brian Holmes; daughter, Aubrey Jo Holmes; siblings, Kayla Holmes, Michael Holmes, Eli Holmes, Isaiah Holmes; grandmother, Sharon Hendrix, all of Hutchinson; grandfather, Johnnie Holmes, Jr. of Garden City; nieces, Zolie Diaz, Lizzy Holmes; nephew, Brian Holmes, all of Hutchinson; uncles, Wesley Holmes and wife Tenille of Valley Center, Brent Holmes and wife Vickie of Edmond, Oklahoma, John Holmes and wife Mary of Garden City; aunt, Jonetta Hebrlee and husband Bill of Garden City; close friend and Aubrey's mom, Taylor Finch of Hutchinson; 11 cousins; and a host of extended relatives and close friends.  He was preceded in death by: grandfather, Larry Hendrix; grandmother, Wanda Holmes; an aunt, Lisa Hendrix; and brother-in-law, Victor Diaz.

Celebration of Life service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary. Inurnment will be 1 p.m. Monday, December 11, 2017, at Valley View Cemetery, Garden City. Following the inurnment, family and friends are invited to join the family for a time of sharing and reminiscing of Josh's life at the Finney County Historical Museum's meeting room.
